20 year old movies we still love

It seems that just a couple of years ago, we saw movies like Titanic, Toy Story, and all those that fascinate us from the 90s and 2000s for the first time, but the truth is that more than 20 years have passed since they were released in the cinema.

Some films exceed the passing of the years, as they continue to be the favorites of many people around the world and the most viewed. Here are 10 movies that turned 20 years old, and we still love them to give you a bit of nostalgia.

Gladiator

The action film, directed by Ridley Scott and released in 2000, tells the story of Maximo Decimo Meridio, a general of the Roman army who, at the end of the war, longs to get home with his wife and children. However, he is betrayed by Commodus, the son of Emperor Marcus Aurelius. The ambitious young man not only orders his father to be assassinated to stay in power, but also Maximo's family, whom he turns into a slave to be able to fight and assassinate him.

She's all that

This is the classic movie of American teenagers living an "everyday life." Zack, the most popular boy in high school, bets that he can conquer the girl he wants. However, when he meets Laney, it will not be easy, because she is the typical intellectual and introverted girl who does not think about finding the right love.

The Grinch

In Whoville's town, the Whos are very enthusiastic about preparing the Christmas parties, except the Grinch, a green, bitter and hairy being who despises everything that has to do with festivities. His hatred is so much that he plans to steal Christmas so no one else can enjoy it.
Since it was released in 2000, the film starring Jim Carrey has become a Christmas classic that people enjoy year after year throughout the season.

Scary Movie

Written and directed by brothers Shawn and Marlon Wayans, the 2000 film was one of the first to parody classic American horror films, especially Scream.

Cast Away

Who can forget Tom Hanks befriending a volleyball named Wilson? The film, directed by Robert Zemeckis, tells the survival story of Chuck Noland, a messenger who was stranded for several years on an island in the Pacific Ocean when the plane in which he was traveling fell into the sea.
Tom Hanks had to lose weight extremely to play the character, but once he achieved his goal, he did a great job.

Titanic

Directed by James Cameron and released in 1997, Titanic became a favorite for those who love drama and romance. And even though we've seen it a million times, we still mourn the tragic end of the love between Jack and Rose.
For 12 years, it was one of the highest-grossing films in history, but lost its title when Avatar, by the same director, was released. Even so, it continues to be one of the favorites.

Matrix

For fans of science fiction, The Matrix became the movie that represented them. The story that the Wachowski sisters built is inspired by a future in which humans live in a simulated reality through dreams and in fear that machines will finally take over the world.
It has been about 22 years since the film was released, and after so long, the fourth part is about to hit the big screen, once again with Keanu Reeves as the protagonist.

Tarzan

In 1999 Disney released one of its highest grossing animated films, Tarzan, which tells the story of an orphaned baby adopted by a gorilla family and who, growing up, falls madly in love with Jane, an explorer who will help him find his identity. Today it is still a favorite of young and old.

Forrest Gump

The 1994 film, based on Winston Groom's novel of the same name, centers on the character of Forrest Gump (played by Tom Hanks), a boy who, despite his limitations, becomes a determined person who tells a sensational story while waiting for the bus.

The Mask

Starring Jim Carrey and Cameron Diaz, the film is one of the favorite comedies of all time. The character's uniqueness and tongue-in-cheek comments make anyone laugh out loud every time they look at her.
