Home Remedies for Head Lice That You Can Find in Your Kitchen

Lice are small wingless insects that colonize the scalp and hair. Lice have a parasitic existence.

Lice are not harmful to health, they are simply irritating. Lice infestation, also known as pediculosis, is contagious in nature.

It spreads through direct or indirect contact with the carrier. The common use of contaminated clothing, towels, brushes, combs, and other infected persons' belongings puts a person at risk of contracting lice.
Thus, if one member of the family has lice, others are also likely to be infected. Lice growth occurs through three distinct phases: night phase, nymph phase, and adulthood.

The lifespan of the adult louse is 30 days. If a louse falls from the head, it can survive up to 2 days at most. Lice can move through the hair and cause a tingling sensation. They also cause severe itching.
